Good Jeans & Brown Suga

Good Jeans & Brown Suga is a collection of photography by Joshua. His first self published photo and poetry book. Get your copy of the photo book here

Good Jeans and Brown Suga' is a display of resilience and beauty in the black community. It is a collection of photos and poetry brought together to highlight the aesthetic of the black community laced in denim. It is a journey through the photographer’s eyes and soul as he traversed through the year it took to create it: 2020.

He explores the balance of sensitivity and strength with the seemingly nonstop traumatic events that took place within just a few months like the racial injustices, Floyd riots, police brutality, and the global pandemic sparked by COVID-19. In celebration of the book's release in November 2020 Joshua and his team at Move Love Productions alongside creative director Brianna Parchment curated a denim themed fashion and art show. The book is available in both digital and physical platforms.

This collection was also transformed into his first Solo photography exhibition at the Ali Cultural Arts Center in Pompano Beach Florida.

A spin off the original the collection, entitled Good Dreams. During the length of the exhibition, the space was activated with a journaling workshop, a sewing workshop, a designer/photography, a jazz concert, a mini documentary and a poetry showcase.

Some poems from the book and outtakes from the events are featured in our Stories (Link)

Photos that were displayed are framed and still available for purchase.
