KADO Time Pieces

The name of my brand is KADO—derived from Haitian Creole for “gift.” The name also connects to my birth story: I was first named “Ricardo,” which roughly translates to “laughing gift,” before it was changed to Joshua. KADO is both personal and cultural—a tribute to my heritage, identity, and the philosophy that time itself is a gift.

Taking further inspiration from Master Oogway from Kung Foo Panda “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present”

People who wear Kado don’t just want to know the time; they are reminded with each glance to stop and pause and reflect on the present moment. That life is an adventure, and every moment should be savored.

Wonder, Presence, Gratitude, Connection. “Youre here,” “Pay Attention,” “This moment matters,” “There’s still more to discover”

Kado wants people to feel like life is a gift worth unwrapping.

Have you ever rode the Tap taps in Haiti ? 🇭🇹 Tap Taps are a mode of public transportation typically consisting of a truck and a cover on the back to protect from the sun or rain. They’d squeeze in as much people as they can, cause this is how the drivers sometimes made a living. The trucks are sometimes gorgeously painted with vibrant colors. 4 of 8 in the series.
